Our bed bug heat treatment works by directing clean, dry heat into an infected area and slowly raising temperatures to levels lethal to bed bugs. Temperatures in the range of 120-140ºF for about one hour prove fatal to many of the pesticide-resistant bed bugs that invade home and beds. Applying high heat is more effective than chemical applications when it comes to the extermination of bed bugs. Bed bugs are more resistant than ever to insecticides, meaning chemicals may not be able to destroy all insects at every stage of life in one treatment. On the other hand, bed bugs cannot physically withstand the heat, making heat the effective, sure-fire way to destroy pests. And while chemical treatments can take several rounds to ensure pests are terminated, residential spaces only require one heat treatment.
Heat treatment along with residual chemicals is the best way to eradicate bed bugs and their eggs by heating up the location to lethal temperatures. Heating units, special dehumidifier and multiple fans are brought into your home to raise the temperature to between 120 and 140 degrees and lower the humidity below 20%.
